First things first: Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! May 2010 bring you more Holmesy goodness =) After seeing the new Sherlock Holmes movie, one thing has been bugging me immensely. I do remember that it is mentioned off-handedly that Watson is a gambler (and not good at restraining himself, either) - but I can't remember for the life of me which story and where it is exactly in canon that that's mentioned. Also, is there also a reference to Holmes keeping Watson's chequebook to deter him from this? I vaguely remember this, but I just want to tell my non-Holmesian friends about it with some actual evidence. Help? Also, because I don't want to totally spam the community, here's a doodle I did: Title: "Just let me take a swig first." Rating: PG...? Notes: Felt inspired after watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie, and wanted to draw him in the boxing(?) match, but in my usual style. It's fun to draw Holmes grimy and rough for once, as opposed to the usual gentleman I always draw him to be (even though I know he isn't!) Warnings: Crappy background, and a bashed-up Holmes, although I'm sure the latter's not new
